Jericho; In the Blink of an Eye. Chapter One

Prologue:

Author Notes:
How does one restore order? How is group mentality driven poor behavior punished?
What is a town to do with very limited jail space do with young people as well as townspeople who choose to bully, steal and even take the law into their own hands? These are the acts of the people of Jericho will explore in these stories.

This the first in a series of stories based on the tv show Jericho, which the author neither owns the television show or the characters appearing within and represented in these stories.
The writer receives no financial gain from the writing or posting of these stories.

It is the hope that others will share their opinions in the exploration of the aftermath of a Nuclear Bomb, its effects on behavior, discipline and justice. Surely it is not to far fetched to explore a return to a past era where discipline and accompanying punishment was meted out and received based on old fashion child rearing methods common in towns across our heartland in an America in the 1960’s.

The normality of a small town is a microcosm to similar municipalities across the nation. Family values and Old Fashion discipline are still a way of life in these hamlets. Right and wrong are not suggestions, but the enforced rules. In a blink of an eye and a flash of light rising over the horizon taking shape as an orange mushroom cloud.

A Nuclear Bomb has gone off west of the small Kansas Town, Jericho over Denver. Isolation, hoarding and panic behavior driven by fear leads to a breakdown of attitude norms and resulting mob mentality bad behavior by all age groups and sexes.

Join me on this journey back to old fashion punishment and witness its effectiveness in a town where the breakdown of society needs to be shocked back into a manageable society.

Comments and opinions exploring these questions and how they influence the townspeople of Jericho and their surrounding areas are welcome and appreciated.
