Spirits Part I (primarily M/f)

Post by redzonedefense_F » Sun Jul 19, 2015 5:58 pm

Present Day

“As you can see,” the realtor said brightly as she swung open the weathered oak door, ”the neighborhood is well-established. The school district is one of the highest performing in the state. It is a community well suited for young families like yourselves. She began to stride into the foyer. “If you’ll notice …” She cleared her throat. “We should probably all be together.” He turned. His wife was standing, staring up into the leaves of the sugar maples. “She …uh … loves the autumn.” Sally the realtor was officially in a huff. He called through gritted teeth, ”Elizabeth! We actually have to look inside!” “Mm-hmm” she hummed wistfully, not turning her eyes from the foliage until she absolutely had to. She swayed inside, remembering at the last minute to stay out of arm’s reach as she ducked inside the door. She knew better.

The 12-foot ceilings, the massive staircase, the newly-appointed kitchen … it was all very promising. He knew the trees had sold her before they even began. Eight weeks later, they celebrated the closing by sliding across the hardwood floor in each room in their stocking feet … then celebrating in a more … ahem … mature way..

1826
“I may be your wife, Jacob Newsome, but I am still my own person!” She turned on her heel and stomped over to the other side of the room. “You had best return to where I am, Sarah Anne Newsome. If I must come for you, it will be unpleasant for us both.” She scoffed with more bravado than she felt, losing all traces of it when he began to march toward her. She gasped softly at his deep brown eyes that seemed to boil. It had taken him eight months to build this home. It was his gift to her on their wedding day. His efforts would not be for nothing. No one had ever spoken to Jacob that way. He was intent on making sure this time was the first and last.

1875
“Papa! But, Papa … I love him!’ young Carrie pleaded as she was escorted briskly by her upper arm to her bedroom, her body landing on her mattress. She turned and looked at him with eyes of a startled fawn. Adam Stinson spoke slowly and deliberately. There was no mistaking his tone … low and menacing, ”You have disgraced yourself … and you have disgraced me this night. You are not to leave this room for any reason until I am prepared to deal with you. Is … that … understood?!?” She nodded adamantly. “Y-y-yes sir.” she stammered. The walls shook as he slammed the door. He leaned his arm against her door, listening to her soft sobs.

1934
They sat huddled together around the meager fire. The cold bread and beans filling a small portion of their cavernous hunger. “I’ll be back working at the factory any day now,” Eli promised his family. Children and wife alike nodded in affirmation, as they had done for as many days as they could remember. “This may help us pass the time,” offered 11-year-old Joseph as he pulled two apples and a small wedge of cheese from inside his coat. They all gasped in astonishment. “Wait!” Eli warned as his children automatically reached for the treasure. He eyed Joseph. “Boy, where did you get all this?” Joseph immediately dropped his head. “I got it, is all.” He was defensive and defiant in the same breath.

1953
“Why do you need another pair of red heels, again?” Stuart could barely contain himself in anticipation of the tale of desperation he was about to hear.” “Well, see …” Laverne began, chomping gum all the while. “The Danvers are having a party later this week. I wanted a higher heel on this pair. My others are too low.” She gestured dramatically, for surely Stuart could understand her dire straits. “And the old ones don’t go with the new dress at all.” His expression changed. “You bought another new dress?” She didn’t even turn to acknowledge him. “Didn’t you and I have an understanding about your shopping? Didn’t I say …” He rose to his feet. “… that you were not to purchase anything more without my agreement?!?” She turned and looked at him quizzically. “You were serious about that?” His face blanched. He put his hand on her shoulder and began marching her toward the living room. “You are about to find out, missy, just how serious I am!”

Present Day
“I love this house! It has such character” she hummed as she nestled against him. “That was even before such a character moved in, too!’ he grinned. She turned and elbowed him in the stomach, smirking . He chuckled. “It does have character. I agree. This house has a history … and spirits … lots of spirits.” She turned to him, searching his eyes. He was serious.

1826
Jacob took Sarah’s hand. “You would do well not to disobey me in this, wife.” “Disobey you?” She hissed. “I am not yours to possess. I am not a child!” “Oh, my dear sweet Sarah, that you are. You are acting much like a young petulant child. We are man and wife now. I will not tolerate tantrums in our children or in my wife. We will put that thought to rest right now.” Grasping her elbow, he strode purposefully to the wooden bench near the kitchen table he had finished just days prior. He sat and pulled her across his lap. She struggled in earnest. “How dare you! You beast! Let me up this instant!” His brief smile was wicked. “I dare, dear Sarah, because I can and should. You would think less of me if I did not.” She was dumbstruck by his accurate observation.

1875
Carrie sat hugging her knees to her chest when her father returned. He sighed softly at his daughter’s tears but was resigned to what he must do. No daughter of his was going to be seen in the company of … that boy. He scowled at the image of that hoodlum then approached her bedside, removing his belt. Her eyes went wide. “Papa … no, please!” “Do not make this more difficult!’ His tone brooked no argument. She stood, her shoulders slumped in recognition. She gave him one last rueful glance before turning and placing her elbows on the bed. He raised her shift and readied his belt. She took several deep breaths to steady herself. He hardly heard her whisper, “Haven’t you ever loved, Papa?”

1934
The family felt silent at Joseph’s words. Emotions warred with physical need for what seemed like an eternity. Eli jumped to his feet and roared, “Did you steal?!? Did you?!? Answer me!” Eli grabbed the boy none-to-gently and stomped outside. Once there, he took his pocketknife and began peeling a branch from a young sapling. Joseph stood stock still. He refused to give in to the inner voices pleading with him to flee. Eli turned to his son and glared. Young Joseph met his father’s eyes without fear. The boy turned and placed his hands against the near wall, well-practiced in the ritual of being switched then stated simply, “I did what I felt I must. Now you do what you feel you must.” Eli stood stunned.

1953
“Stu?” … “Stuart?” … “Stuie?” Laverne managed as she was being marched to the living room. Once there, Stuart quietly took off his jacket and began rolling up the sleeves of his button-down shirt. “Stuart … I … “ Laverne stammered. He stopped her cold with a single look. He strode toward her, turning her and unzipping the back of her skirt and peeling it from her. “STUART!” she shrieked. He sat purposefully on the sofa and drew her across his knee, “But … I did it for you!’ she wailed.

To be continued ....

I did too..... back when it was first posted by someone called skirt_the_issue in August 2007. Lets hope the current 'author' doesn't....that is, skirt the issue.

That was/is me ... a lifetime ago, when M/f was my primary dynamic. I came across it when culling electronic files and after receiving some thoughtful reviews from friends, thought it might deserve to see the light of day again after all these years. Reddendmaker, how you knew that just amazes me. I will take it as a compliment that it stuck in your memory that way. I do still skirt the issue now and again. Life is too short to acquiesce so quickly. :D

My info says I've been here since 2013, but in actuality I've either been reading or registered here since 2000. Your story, which is very good btw, struck a cord in my memory. I've had an interest and participated in spanking for 50 years and saved several thousand well written stories of TTWD, many from now defunct sites. I've always had a concern that some right wing people would decide that these interests should be banned from the web and I needed a library just in case. A quick search of those stories in Word brought up your original from Aug 2007 (you can find it in this site's archives also) with even the original blue font. I just hoped you were the original author with a new 'name' and not someone plagiarizing your story. Welcome back.

Thanks very much. I appreciate your diligence. I would probably find it an honor that someone appreciated my work enough to claim it. Hahahaha 50 years?!? Congratulations for having that sense of self from the beginning. I was a late bloomer, in that regard. I have been coming here since '01 or '02 on and off and have had more than one nickname. That one was during the early years with my husband, whom I met here. He had a thing for skirts (and the obvious). Now, I proudly proclaim my love of football (and the obvious :D) This work was inspired by my husband's musings about the memories contained within the walls of older buildings. That it is part of your library is humbling.

Part II will be posted in the next day or two. ;)
